Becoming a Member
Be a Part of Something Sacred
We rejoice when newcomers wish to join our congregation and thank God for the opportunity to have other Christian brothers and sisters walk with us, worship with us, and go through life with us.
There are several ways in which people become members at Our Savior. The most basic way is when an infant, child, or adult is Baptized. Members are also sometimes received by Profession of Faith, which means they have previously been instructed, examined, and confirmed in a Lutheran congregation, or by Transfer, which means they were members of another congregation in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod and have moved their membership to Our Savior. Finally, those who have been instructed and examined in our congregation and have confessed their faith are received through the rite of Confirmation.
However one may become a member, membership simply means that a person believes the same as we do and desires to lead a godly life according to those beliefs. Membership means attending Divine Services, making regular use of the means of grace, supporting the congregation through offerings, and lending a hand when you are able.
If you are interested in church membership, or would simply like to learn more about Our Savior, contact the church. The pastors will reach out to you and visit with you about our congregation.
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
